The 4:30 Light: What I’ve Been Building Before the World Wakes Up

For months now, my household has known one strange fact about me: the light in my study goes on at 4:30 in the morning.

Not for the agency. That work starts at eight. This is something else entirely, something I have been building quietly before the phone starts ringing, in the only hours nobody needs me. Some mornings the words come easily. Some mornings I sit there wrestling with one paragraph until the birds start.

I am not ready to tell you what it is yet. But it grew out of everything I have seen in years of caring for families, the beautiful things and the heartbreaking ones, and it is almost ready to meet you.

If you have ever loved someone growing old, or stood beside someone fighting a battle nobody else could see, then you already understand the kind of thing the 4:30 light is for. It is not ambition keeping me up. It is something quieter than that, and more urgent.

The 4:30 light has been on for you.

More soon. Stay close.
